PGA Professional
Professional Golfing Career
Dave played golf professionally from 1982 to 1996, showcasing his talent on the PGA Tour, the Nike Tour, and various international tours. His career is decorated with notable titles, including the Pacific Northwest Intercollegiate Champion, US Amateur Championship quarter-finalist, Pacific Northwest Amateur Champion, British Columbia Open Champion, and Windsor Canada Classic Champion.
Transition to Teaching
In 1996, Dave transitioned from professional play to teaching, sharing his extensive knowledge with others. With enthusiasm and dedication, he began teaching exclusively at Boundary Oak Golf Course in 1994, even before ending his professional playing career.
Teaching Career and Impact
Since then, Dave's impact on golf instruction has been significant. Through the Dave DeLong School of Golf programs, he has introduced thousands of aspiring golfers to the sport, imparting his expertise and fostering an appreciation for golf. Dave's commitment to teaching is evidenced by the remarkable milestone of over 20,000 lessons, demonstrating his profound influence on numerous individuals' golfing journeys.


Meet The Team

Byron Schlagenhauf
Byron has been playing and teaching golf for over 25 years. He is a former All-American, Team Captain, and MVP of the UCLA Golf Team. After a successful amateur career he went on to play professionally for 10 years on the Nationwide, Asian, South American and Golden State Tours.
As a TPI Certified golf instructor, Byron has a deep understanding of how the body functions during the golf swing. With a data driven approach utilizing launch monitor technology and video analysis, Byron incorporates his extensive knowledge of golf to instruct his students of all skill levels and playing abilities. Having been a student of golf for many years himself, he enjoys the challenge of communicating his instruction with his students in a way that helps them internalize how to make the right changes to improve their game.
Byron’s patient demeanor and attention to detail makes him a great instructor for both beginning and advanced golfers alike. At the core of his teaching, he focuses on fundamentals that help students create a foundation for a repeatable golf swing.

Stephanie Hayes
Stephanie is an LPGA Class A instructor with over twenty-three years of teaching experience. She has taught numerous lessons to adults and juniors over the years and is U.S. Kids Certified, is a First Tee Coach and has a Titleist Performance Institute golf fitness certification (TPI Golf 1).
Stephanie competed in junior and amateur events (JGANC, NCGA) and played college golf at Santa Clara University. She has professional mini tour playing experience (Players West Tour, Cactus Tour, Duramed Futures(qualifier)) and draws from her own golf educations and experience to help students improve and enjoy the game more.
